Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end lifecycle management of cybersecurity platforms including SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, vulnerability management, firewalls, and network security tools

- Manage and mentor a team of security engineers and analysts, balancing hands-on platform work with delegation and coaching
- Evaluate and recommend new security platforms and tools as business requirements and threat landscape evolve
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budget for cybersecurity tooling including forecasting and cost optimization
- Establish change control and configuration management practices to ensure changes are tracked, tested, and approved
- Partner with security SMEs in incident response, threat intelligence, and compliance to configure platforms to meet operational needs
- Collaborate with IT teams whose systems and applications are protected by these security platforms
- Develop and track KPIs and metrics for platform health, uptime, and operational success
- Provide control assurance evidence and validation to demonstrate platform effectiveness against security standards
- Report on platform status, risks, and roadmap to leadership and participate in relevant status meetings
What We're Looking For
- Certifications: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, GIAC (GSEC/GCIA/GMON), or equivalent platform/technical certification; vendor-specific certifications (SIEM, EDR, IAM) are a plus
- Experience: 5-7 years in cybersecurity with 2-3+ years of true leadership experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Technical expertise: Hands-on experience administering and managing cybersecurity platforms such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, vulnerability management, or network security tools
- Leadership background: Experience leading engineering or operations teams responsible for security platforms
- Practical experience building threat-based cybersecurity programs and designing/implementing security controls and compliance programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including ability to negotiate tense situations and resolve conflict
- Strong business acumen to understand how security platform performance supports organizational goals
- Self-motivated with adaptability to work in an ever-changing operational environment
- Openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and improve experiences
- Must reside and be authorized to work in the United States
- Willingness and ability to travel to client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require
