Senior Medical Writer – Oncology Publications
Location: London, UK / Hybrid
We are representing a leading medical communications agency seeking a Senior Medical Writer to join their oncology publications team. Our client partners with pharmaceutical and biotech organizations to develop high-quality scientific content that supports healthcare professionals and the wider medical community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver multiple oncology publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, presentations, and congress materials
- Interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data with accuracy and clarity
- Collaborate with authors and subject-matter experts to develop publication content
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines across a busy account portfolio
- Apply publication guidelines, ethical standards, and industry best practices throughout the publication process
- Review and critically appraise scientific literature and clinical data
- Contribute to publication planning and strategic scientific discussions
- Work with account, editorial, and creative colleagues to deliver high-quality outputs
- Participate in client meetings and presentations as appropriate
- Provide scientific input and guidance to junior members of the writing team
What We're Looking For
- Several years' experience in medical communications within an agency environment
- Proven experience developing scientific publications across oncology therapeutic areas
- A degree or higher qualification in a relevant scientific, medical, or life sciences discipline
- Strong understanding of the publication process and relevant industry guidelines (GPP, ICMJE)
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Genuine interest in oncology and translating complex science into clear communications
