About the Role

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization in Berlin that is building a new security analytics capability. As a Software Developer specializing in Go, you will take a leading role in developing backend components and application layers that transform fragmented security telemetry into explainable threat analysis.

This is a fixed-term contract position running until October 31, 2027, based in Berlin with remote flexibility across Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Build backend services that receive security telemetry, execute analysis workflows, and store results with supporting evidence
  • Design stable, versioned APIs for ingestion, analysis, and reporting capabilities
  • Define maintainable domain models for security events, analysis results, and evidence chains
  • Implement asynchronous processing systems with progress reporting, retries, cancellation, and clear failure states
  • Process large telemetry datasets with predictable memory usage, throughput, and backpressure handling
  • Build integration interfaces between application services and AI/ML components, including queuing, timeouts, partial results, and fallback mechanisms
  • Preserve full traceability from analysis results back to original source fields and log fragments
  • Implement JSON and PDF reporting pipelines for both machine-readable and human-readable outputs
  • Apply authentication, authorization, tenant separation, and secure data-handling patterns across multi-tenant components
  • Maintain engineering quality through testing, code review, interface documentation, performance profiling, and translating analyst feedback into technical improvements

What We're Looking For

Go Expertise:

  • Strong practical Go experience with idiomatic patterns
  • Proficiency with goroutines, channels, and context management including cancellation and timeouts
  • Experience with profiling, benchmarking, and reasoning about allocations and memory behavior
  • Confident use of the standard library and deliberate dependency management

Backend Engineering:

  • API design including versioning, validation, and error handling
  • Relational data modeling and SQL
  • Asynchronous job processing, queues, background workflows, and failure recovery
  • Testing practices and observability implementation

System Design:

  • Service boundaries, event-driven workflows, and integration patterns
  • Authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation architecture
  • Containerized applications and production deployment workflows
  • Performance and reliability optimization for large data volumes

Reporting and Data Presentation:

  • JSON API design and machine-readable export formats
  • PDF or document-generation pipeline experience
  • Audit-oriented or evidence-oriented data structures (preferred)

Cybersecurity Knowledge:

  • Experience with SOC tooling, SIEM, EDR, incident response, threat hunting, or security analytics is a strong advantage
  • Ability to understand process, host, identity, network, and timeline data

Additional Skills (welcome but not required):

  • Modern JavaScript or TypeScript with component-based frameworks

Languages:

  • English (required)
  • German (a plus)
