Senior Data Analyst – Strategy & Commercial

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce client in Paris seeking a Senior Data Analyst to own analytical strategy across commercial operations. This is not a reporting role—you'll drive business direction through end-to-end ownership of your analytical domain, from data modeling to boardroom-level recommendations.

Our client operates at significant scale in the European market, and this position offers three potential domain specializations: Strategy & Commercial, Customer Care, or Shipping & Logistics. Through one application process, we'll identify the best fit based on your background and interests.

Responsibilities

Depending on your domain placement, you will:

• Monitor and diagnose commercial performance for Central Europe markets, identifying trends and delivering course-correction plans proactively
• Contribute to 12-month+ sales forecasting and P&L budgeting, translating initiative impacts into tactical recommendations
• Build data models and analytical tooling that surface actionable pricing signals to commercial and revenue teams
• Enable self-service access to pricing and supply health data across the organization
• Own your analytical domain end-to-end—from data infrastructure to strategic decision-making
• Partner directly with senior leadership to shape business questions and influence direction
• At senior levels: mentor junior analysts and elevate team standards for analytical problem-solving

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics with proven end-to-end ownership of analytical problem spaces
• Strong SQL proficiency working with large, complex datasets—you can build queries and translate results into business insights
• Track record of analytical work that shaped business direction, not just answered isolated questions
• Rigorous analytical mindset: understanding of causal vs. correlational reasoning, data limitations, and measurement framework design
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills—ability to distill complex multi-variable analyses into crisp narratives for senior stakeholders
• Experience in business analytics, commercial strategy, or customer-facing operations (marketplace, e-commerce, logistics, or similar domains)

Preferred qualifications:

• Python proficiency for statistical work, modeling, or analytical automation
• Domain expertise in pricing/revenue management, customer care platforms (Zendesk, Intercom), or logistics analytics
• Experience designing experiments in operational contexts (A/B tests, holdouts, incrementality measurement)

Technical environment:

• Google BigQuery data warehouse
• dbt for data transformation
• Omni and Amplitude for visualization and BI
• SQL (essential) and Python (highly useful)
• A/B testing and incrementality measurement frameworks
