Senior Software Engineer – Circularity Order Lifecycle

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization in Paris that is transforming how consumers engage with sustainable technology solutions. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a dynamic product squad focused on order lifecycle systems that enable circular economy initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact features within a modern distributed architecture, collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, and data analysts. You'll contribute to systems that process significant transaction volumes while maintaining quality and reliability standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Go (primary) and Python within a microservices architecture
• Deliver production-ready features with comprehensive testing, monitoring, and observability practices
• Participate in squad rituals and engineering chapter meetings to share knowledge and align technical direction
• Contribute to frontend development using Vue.js/TypeScript when full-stack contributions are needed
• Build and improve systems handling order processing, inventory management, and customer transaction flows
• Facilitate technical discussions around complex architectural decisions for quarter-bounded projects
• Participate in on-call rotation, incident management, and chaos mitigation efforts
• Mentor team members through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing
• Work autonomously within squad scope while managing deliverables and maintaining engineering standards

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong proficiency in Go and proven Python experience
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture with experience building high-traffic backend services
• Working knowledge of modern frontend technologies (Vue.js, React, or similar) with JavaScript/TypeScript comfort
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality production releases with strong SDLC knowledge
• Experience building observability systems (monitoring, alerting, tracing) and using data to drive improvements
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Expertise in API design (REST, GraphQL) and distributed system patterns
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for collaboration with international teams
• Pragmatic technical decision-making with ability to challenge approaches diplomatically
• Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing to team knowledge and standards
