Senior IT Projekt Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software development organization based in Hamburg that builds mission-critical, large-scale software products for leading European enterprises. Our client works across retail, automotive, e-commerce, healthcare, and other industries, delivering products used by millions daily.

As a Senior IT Project Manager, you'll work alongside senior leadership to drive business development and ensure project success. You'll be the bridge between engineering teams and clients, managing commercial project delivery while identifying and eliminating friction points. This role combines strategic client relationship management with hands-on project execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial project steering and successful project delivery in collaboration with engineering teams
• Build and maintain close client relationships, serving as a trusted partner and identifying strategic business goals
• Assemble optimal engineering teams together with engineering directors for new and expanding projects
• Work closely with engineering teams to identify project friction points and ensure effective, efficient workflows
• Initiate and moderate regular meetings, review sessions, and steering committees as project manager
• Develop business by converting leads to long-term clients
• Continuously expand your professional network and identify growth opportunities with existing clients
• Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership on internal and external relationships
• Conduct regular client site visits to strengthen partnerships and align on objectives

What We're Looking For

• 2-4 years of work experience in a demanding environment (corporate, top-tier consulting, or similar)
• Outstanding university degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or related field
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong customer-first orientation and excellent client relationship skills
• Experience with commercial planning and delivery of complex large-scale software projects (ideal)
• Genuine enthusiasm for technology and high-quality software engineering
• Highly precise work style with strong numerical aptitude
• Fluent German (minimum C1 level) and business-level English
• Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Open, honest communication style with strong team collaboration abilities
• Perseverance, situational awareness, and absolute determination to succeed
• Desire to work independently, take ownership, and grow through new challenges
• Interest in continuous development across all commercial topics, especially leadership, with potential to assume team responsibility as the organization grows
