Patient Accounting Rep I

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Patient Accounting Representative I to join their revenue cycle operations. This is a fully remote position based in the United States, offering an opportunity to support critical financial functions within a large health system environment.

In this role, you'll be responsible for accurate and timely processing of patient accounts, working within specialized teams that may include payment posting, insurance follow-up, provider enrollment, or revenue integrity. You'll ensure compliance with governmental and managed care regulations while meeting quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Post payments, refunds, and adjustments to patient accounts within designated timeframes
• Complete assigned work queues on schedule and balance receipts with daily batch reconciliation
• Review Explanation of Benefits for reimbursement errors and inconsistencies
• Identify fee schedule allowable differences and communicate payer trends to management
• Follow up with insurance companies on denials and inquiries to resolve accounts
• Provide documentation as needed and note all actions taken on accounts
• Process adjustments in compliance with department policies
• Enroll, validate, and re-validate practitioner information with government and commercial payers
• Update databases and monitor payer websites for revalidation notices
• Review charge work queues, make corrections, and follow up with departments as needed
• Assist with charge error corrections including duplicates, missing, or rejected charges
• Analyze revenue trending reports and escalate issues appropriately

What We're Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work with healthcare billing systems and follow compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication abilities for working with payers and internal teams

Preferred:

• 1 or more years of experience with Epic (healthcare EHR system)
• Previous experience in revenue cycle, patient accounting, or medical billing

This is a full-time position located remotely within the United States.
