Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Berlin, Germany

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition in Berlin, Germany. Our client operates in a fully distributed environment and is building cutting-edge products that serve millions of users worldwide.

This role sits within the AI team and focuses on all aspects of data collection to support model training operations. You'll be responsible for building high-quality datasets at petabyte-scale through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research work.

Responsibilities

• Identify and integrate new sources of audio data into the ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for the data ingestion pipeline on GCP, managed with Terraform
• Collaborate with research scientists to optimize the cost/throughput/quality balance, delivering richer data at scale to power next-generation models
• Work cross-functionally to shape the dataset roadmap supporting consumer and enterprise product development
• Build and maintain large-scale data processing workflows

What We're Looking For

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• Strong proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
• Expertise in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (client uses GCP)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
