Werkstudent Data Science / Business Intelligence (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare IT organization seeking a working student (Werkstudent) in Data Science and Business Intelligence based in Leipzig. Our client operates at the intersection of healthcare and technology, developing solutions that improve clinical and administrative processes across hospital systems.

As a working student in their product development team, you'll analyze and transform data from internal systems into meaningful reports and dashboards. You'll work at the interface between IT, business units, and stakeholders, applying your academic knowledge in a practical setting. Experienced colleagues will guide your onboarding, allowing you to gradually take on more responsibility in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and stakeholders, translating requirements into actionable reports and dashboards
• Support the design and implementation of reports and dashboards using Power BI
• Analyze and prepare data from various source systems using SQL
• Develop data models and DAX calculations for key performance indicators
• Contribute to automation and optimization of reporting processes

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Information Management, Health Informatics, Medical Informatics, eHealth, Digital Health, or a comparable degree program
• Practical experience with Microsoft Power BI (reports, dashboards, DAX) from previous working student positions, academic projects, or personal projects
• Working knowledge of SQL databases
• Ideally, initial exposure to data modeling, data warehousing concepts, or data preparation processes
• Team spirit and strong communication skills with enthusiasm for collaborating across different departments
• Structured and reliable work approach with high quality standards
• Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level)
