Praktikant (m/w/d) Lean Management / Operational Excellence

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential laboratory organization seeking a motivated intern to join their Lean Management and Operational Excellence team in Berlin. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process optimization within a regulated scientific environment while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites.

Location: Berlin, Germany
Start Date: October 2026 or later
Duration: Minimum three months
Hours: 40 hours per week
Type: Internship (mandatory or voluntary)

Responsibilities

During your internship, you will combine practical application of Lean Management principles in laboratory settings with support for our client's central Operational Excellence network. Your core responsibilities include:

• Conducting process analysis using value stream mapping, spaghetti diagrams, and multi-moment studies within laboratory operations
• Leading an independent detailed study or Lean initiative from problem definition through implementation to results presentation
• Collecting and analyzing relevant KPIs and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented improvement measures
• Developing practical solutions with on-site teams in areas such as 5S, FIFO, visual management, and process standardization
• Supporting the preparation, organization, and documentation of Lean workshops, training sessions, and events
• Creating presentations, posters, templates, and communication materials for the group-wide Operational Excellence network
• Handling administrative and organizational tasks related to group-wide Lean activities and campaigns
• Presenting analyses, measures, and results to teams and decision-makers
• Occasionally supporting projects at additional sites within the DACH region

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable field
• Interest in a minimum three-month mandatory or voluntary internship
• Strong interest in Lean Management, Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, and operational process analysis
• Analytical, structured, and independent working style with enthusiasm for developing and implementing improvement measures
• Excellent communication skills and enjoyment of collaboration with diverse stakeholders across multiple locations
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to work regularly on-site at Berlin laboratories and occasional travel within the DACH region

Preferred:

• Previous practical experience in Lean Management, continuous improvement processes, process optimization, or KPI analysis is advantageous but not required
