About This Opportunity

Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential technology organization in their search for a Chief Technology Officer based in the United Kingdom. Our client is building AI-native applications focused on proactive intelligence and long-running workflows with minimal user prompting.

This is a technical leadership position requiring someone who can operate across multiple business units while remaining deeply engaged with systems, architecture, and engineering execution. You'll shape technology strategy for a multi-product organization while staying close to implementation details.

Responsibilities

  • Own architecture and major technical decisions across group products and platforms
  • Review critical systems, architecture, infrastructure, and code directly
  • Set engineering standards across reliability, security, performance, testing, and code quality
  • Identify technical debt and architecture constraints and drive their resolution
  • Improve engineering productivity, development speed, and production reliability
  • Decide where technology and infrastructure should be shared across group businesses
  • Recruit and assess senior engineers, technical leads, and engineering leaders

What We're Looking For

  • Deep software engineering background with experience building and scaling production systems
  • Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems
  • Experience making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams
  • Strong technical judgment and ability to challenge engineering decisions at implementation level
  • Proven capability building world-class engineering teams
  • Remains technically hands-on—able to review code, architecture, incidents, and difficult engineering problems directly
