Lead People Partner – Technology

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is scaling digital financial services across multiple African markets. Our talent team is searching for a Lead People Partner - Technology to join their London-based (remote-friendly) People function and own the people agenda for their entire Technology organization.

This is a senior HR leadership role partnering directly with C-level engineering and product leaders in a rapidly scaling, globally distributed technology environment. You'll shape org design, workforce planning, and talent strategy for engineering teams powering financial inclusion across five countries and serving millions of customers.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to the CTO and their leadership team across Engineering, Data, Analytics, IT and Security
• Lead org design initiatives including workforce planning, levelling frameworks, and team transformation for a globally distributed engineering function
• Hold end-to-end accountability for people partnering across Technology and Product, with one Senior People Partner reporting to you
• Manage and develop your direct report, coaching them to cover Product and adjacent functions while you focus on Engineering
• Partner with Centres of Excellence to leverage people analytics and inform strategic decisions on capability, attrition, and cost
• Drive performance, engagement, and team effectiveness across asynchronous, multi-country distributed teams
• Handle complex, senior-level employee relations matters across multiple jurisdictions
• Translate people priorities into business outcomes at leadership level, operating with genuine autonomy

What We're Looking For

Essential experience and capabilities:

• Senior HR experience partnering with engineering organizations in a scaling technology or fintech business
• Demonstrated understanding of how engineering, data, or platform functions are built, levelled, and retained
• Experience leading or formally coaching HR business partners, with ability to raise standards and develop talent
• Proven org design depth: you've led real structural change (levelling, spans and layers, function redesign), not just supported it
• Strategic and operational range: comfortable designing long-term org strategy and executing at team level
• Experience supporting cross-cultural, remote teams across multiple regions and time zones
• Strong business acumen with ability to engage directly with C-level stakeholders
• Employee relations judgement across more than one jurisdiction, knowing when to own issues and when to escalate to specialists
• Exposure to UK/Europe employment law is useful but not essential

Location: Fully remote role based in the UK, with flexibility for specific European locations. Some candidates in Nigeria may also be considered.
