Position Summary
As Director of Sales Development, you'll oversee strategic growth and daily operations of OffDeal's outbound BD team. Your mandate is to elevate an already-performing sales organization to market-leading status. You'll inherit proven workflows and infrastructure—your role is to amplify what works, coach your team to new heights, and architect playbooks that give OffDeal a structural edge in deal sourcing. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring you to stay connected to the floor, model the calling discipline you expect, and drive measurable pipeline expansion.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day floor performance and analytics, tracking conversion rates, connect quality, and completion metrics by rep and team level to identify performance levers before they become problems.
- Coach the team through live call oversight, recorded session reviews, real-time feedback, and script refinement; own objection-handling methodology and ensure team-wide consistency.
- Lead recruiting, interviewing, and full onboarding of new business development representatives with high hiring standards and hands-on 30-day ramp structures.
- Oversee the complete lead handoff cycle between sales team and banking partners, define qualification standards, monitor lead quality, track no-shows, and maintain two-way accountability.
- Maintain the sales tech stack, manage lead list pipeline, ensure consistent availability of dialing materials, and execute list exports and data-hygiene protocols.
- Build team culture and motivation within the high-volume, high-rejection outbound environment, fostering accountability and resilience across the unit.
What You Bring
- A minimum of 4 years in outbound sales, business development, or related roles, with at least 2 years of direct team leadership.
- Demonstrated success as a hands-on cold caller—you've personally carried quota and understand the nuances of rejection, call discipline, and pipeline building.
- Experience managing a business development or SDR team of 3–10 representatives in a structured, metrics-driven environment.
- Proven ability to own and optimize a sales technology stack and understand data hygiene as mission-critical.
- Leadership style rooted in coaching by example; you get on the phone with your team regularly and believe the best managers are the best practitioners.
- You approach sales operations systematically, viewing outbound as a repeatable process and understanding that data integrity directly determines team output.
- Comfort with operational unglamour; you'll manage list pulls, compliance checks, and administrative workflows without hesitation.
- Availability to work full-time in OffDeal's New York City office (450 West 14th Street) five days per week within commutable distance.
