Role Overview

As a Cost Engineer specialising in Project Controls, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and optimising project costs throughout the delivery lifecycle. This remote position allows you to support energy and natural resources clients whilst working flexibly from your location.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project cost models and forecasts for energy infrastructure projects
  • Monitor actual project spend against budgets and baseline estimates, identifying and escalating variances
  • Provide proactive cost management advice and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders
  • Prepare cost reports and analyses that inform executive decision-making
  • Support value engineering initiatives and cost saving opportunities
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure cost control objectives are achieved
  • Track and analyse cost trends, preparing forecasts for project completion

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Cost Engineer or Project Controls professional, ideally in energy, infrastructure, or related sectors
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Proficiency with cost management software and tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience developing cost plans, forecasts, and variance analyses
  • AACE or equivalent cost engineering qualification preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cost control workstreams
