NPI Manufacturing Engineer

Intuitive is hiring a Full Time NPI Manufacturing Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Sunnyvale, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive new product introductions from concept through production, supporting our mission to create innovative medical device solutions.

Position Summary

As an NPI Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be instrumental in transitioning new products from development into high-volume manufacturing environments. Working within our manufacturing organization, you'll collaborate across engineering, supply chain, quality, and production teams to ensure successful, cost-effective product launches that meet the highest standards for reliability and compliance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new product introduction, ensuring scalability and efficiency from pilot to full production
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to evaluate design manufacturability and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements
• Create detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures for production teams
• Conduct process capability studies and validate manufacturing parameters to meet quality and performance specifications
• Support supplier qualification and material validation activities to ensure supply chain readiness
• Lead cross-functional meetings and drive problem-solving initiatives to address manufacturing challenges during product transitions
• Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to maintain consistent quality and yield targets

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, with demonstrated success in new product introduction or production ramp-up environments
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to medical device production
• Experience with process capability analysis, statistical process control, and design of experiments
• Proficiency with manufacturing planning tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
• Familiarity with ISO, FDA regulations, and quality management systems is a plus
