Java Technical Lead

Inetum is looking for a Java Technical Lead to join their consulting team on a remote, full-time basis, leading development efforts for clients based in or served from Bucharest. In this leadership role, you'll guide a team of Java developers, architect scalable solutions, and drive technical excellence across projects.

About the Role

As a Java Technical Lead at Inetum, you'll combine hands-on development expertise with team leadership and strategic technical decision-making. You'll work remotely while supporting Inetum's consulting practice, taking ownership of Java-based initiatives that range from enterprise applications to specialized solutions for high-impact clients. This position bridges development and architecture, requiring you to stay active in code while mentoring developers, conducting technical reviews, and ensuring systems meet both functional and non-functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Java developers, fostering a culture of technical growth and code quality
• Design and oversee the architecture of Java applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Collaborate with consulting clients to understand technical requirements and deliver solutions that align with business goals
• Conduct code reviews, establish coding standards, and drive adherence to best practices
• Manage technical debt, plan improvements, and coordinate system upgrades and migrations
• Participate actively in development while balancing leadership responsibilities
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and professional development initiatives within the team

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Java developer or architect, ideally 7+ years in the Java ecosystem
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams or mentoring junior developers
• Strong knowledge of enterprise Java frameworks, design patterns, and system architecture
• Experience with modern development practices, including version control, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and commitment to code quality
• Comfortable working in a remote environment with distributed teams
