Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential consumer goods organization in Cologne, and our talent team is seeking an experienced accountant to join their finance operations. In this role, you will:
- Organize and maintain incoming and outgoing invoices and manage document workflows
- Prepare payment runs and perform regular account reconciliation and clarification
- Execute preparatory accounting in close collaboration with external tax advisors
- Support internal monthly closings as well as semi-annual and annual financial statements according to HGB standards
- Contribute to the design of digital workflows and implementation of accounting and document management tools
What We're Looking For
Our client needs someone with solid technical accounting skills and a collaborative mindset:
- Completed vocational training in a commercial field, ideally as a tax specialist, balance sheet accountant, or financial accountant
- Minimum two years of relevant professional experience where you developed fundamental accounting knowledge
- Initial experience in stakeholder management, such as handling relationships with tax advisors and banks
- Ideally, practical experience supporting inventory accounting and valuation of stock
- Familiarity with DATEV Unternehmen Online and pre-capture systems such as CANDIS is a plus
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Independent, conscientious work style with excellent communication skills
- High sense of responsibility and a hands-on mentality
- Team-oriented personality who thrives in a growth-focused environment
