Preventative Maintenance Supervisor

Dexterra is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations at its Beltsville, MD facility. This full-time position is ideal for an experienced maintenance leader ready to build a high-performing team and drive operational excellence through proactive equipment care.

What This Role Involves

As Preventative Maintenance Supervisor, you'll develop and oversee preventative maintenance strategies that keep equipment running reliably and facilities operating at peak performance. You'll lead a team of maintenance professionals, balancing day-to-day operational needs with long-term asset preservation. Your leadership will ensure safety compliance, minimize unplanned downtime, and maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities. This position requires both hands-on technical knowledge and the ability to manage people, schedules, and budgets effectively.

Core Duties

• Create and execute preventative maintenance schedules aligned with equipment manufacturers' recommendations
• Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff performance and development
• Perform and oversee equipment inspections, diagnostics, and preventative service
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation
• Coordinate maintenance activities across multiple departments and facility areas
• Identify equipment failures or performance issues and implement corrective solutions
• Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Communicate maintenance plans and status updates to facility management and stakeholders

Who We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in preventative maintenance or facilities management
• Proven success supervising maintenance teams or technical staff
• Strong technical knowledge of maintenance equipment, systems, and methodologies
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and documentation systems
• Ability to read technical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• High school diploma or GED; trade certification or additional technical training preferred
