Assistant Faculty (Part-Time), Computer Information Systems

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential higher education institution seeking a passionate part-time Assistant Faculty member to support online undergraduate programming courses. This role is essential in creating an optimal learning environment by supporting instructional faculty and enhancing student engagement in large online classrooms.

This position requires a set weekly schedule of 25 hours per week, and the selected candidate must be available to work between 8am and 4pm ET, Monday through Friday. This is a remote, work-from-home position.

Responsibilities

• Analyze student activity within discussions and assessments and respond appropriately based on training and input from the lead instructor
• Assist in managing student communications and escalate unique issues to the lead instructor
• Assist with grading and providing timely, constructive feedback to students
• Monitor students' engagement levels and provide recommendations on approaches to increase engagement
• Provide tutoring, live sessions, or other student support as needed
• Conduct student outreach to support learning outcomes
• Develop supplemental support documents, videos, and job aids as directed

What We're Looking For

Required Education:

• Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution (terminal degree may be required depending on course credentialing requirements)

Required Experience:

• Previous experience teaching Python and AI software development languages
• Previous teaching experience required; online teaching experience preferred
• Professional experience in the field of study is preferred

Required Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills
• Strong relationship-building, customer service, and problem resolution abilities
• Attention to detail with strong initiative and follow-through
• Experience working with diverse learning styles
• Comfortable using technology to facilitate learning

Work Environment Requirements:

• High-speed internet connection, printer, and dedicated phone line for business use
• Appropriate home office space free from distractions that enables a professional work environment
• Ability to spend majority of time using telephone, PC, and monitors

Additional Information:

• Professional certification in discipline specialty may be required

Pay

This position is expected to pay $18.25 - $27.75 per hour through Get A Job.ai. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay if applicable.
