Senior Privacy Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-established remote-first technology company focused on online privacy and protection. Our client seeks a Senior Privacy Engineer to lead complex projects that safeguard user privacy across their product ecosystem. This is a fully remote position offering end-to-end ownership of high-impact privacy initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own major components of privacy technology systems from conception through maintenance and continuous improvement
• Design and implement privacy-preserving systems for search infrastructure and AI features
• Build and enhance automated tools to detect emerging privacy threats across the web
• Develop and maintain privacy features including web tracking protection and email protection systems
• Participate in privacy review and audit processes to ensure all product developments align with core privacy principles
• Write pragmatic, performant, and testable code using Go, Node.js, Python, and occasionally Perl
• Mentor engineering team members, supporting their career development and the growth of the privacy engineering function
• Collaborate across teams to wrangle ambiguous problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute effectively

What We're Looking For

• Proven ability to lead high-impact, complex projects from proposal through post-mortem
• Demonstrated experience working on privacy solutions in an engineering capacity (tracker blocking, differential privacy, or similar technologies)
• Deep technical understanding of online privacy threats and the existing solution landscape
• Proficiency in one or more of: Go, Node.js, Python, or Perl
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle vague requirements and deliver concrete solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to validate technical decisions and explain them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Track record of taking full ownership of engineering components and their long-term evolution

This role requires video conference meetings, full-time commitment averaging 40 hours per week, and travel approximately twice annually for company gatherings (4-5 days each). A background check will be required prior to starting.

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $178,500 USD annually plus stock options.
