Privacy Engineering Director

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential privacy-focused technology company seeking a Privacy Engineering Director to join their fully remote team. This is a senior leadership role where you will own the most complex, high-stakes privacy challenges across multiple product lines including browser applications, search technology, and emerging AI-assisted workflows.

As a privacy engineering leader, you'll drive critical initiatives that define how millions of users experience privacy protection online. You will build frameworks, lead cross-functional projects, and mentor the next generation of privacy engineers while contributing to company-wide privacy strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-complexity privacy engineering projects from definition through delivery with minimal direction
• Build privacy engineering frameworks for emerging products, particularly AI-assisted user workflows and agentic computing applications
• Design technical solutions that enable product capabilities while maintaining strict privacy guarantees at scale
• Evolve privacy triage and review processes to improve organizational efficiency
• Build automation systems that reduce engineering toil and scale privacy operations
• Provide direct management and mentorship to privacy engineering team members
• Translate privacy principles into practical engineering decisions across competing stakeholder needs
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement scalable review systems
• Contribute to privacy strategy at the organizational level

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years experience leading privacy reviews, audits, or technical privacy programs at a consumer-facing product company with 1M+ user base
• 4+ years privacy engineering leadership experience building infrastructure tools, data minimization systems, or privacy-preserving technical solutions
• Director, Head of, or VP-level experience with direct management and hiring responsibilities
• Proven track record as a directly responsible individual (DRI) on high-complexity, cross-functional projects
• Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience improving organizational processes through automation and scalable systems
• Deep expertise in privacy engineering principles, audit frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration
• Passion for privacy and user trust
• Ability to work on camera via video conferencing in a remote-first environment
• Willingness to travel approximately twice per year for team meetings and retreats (4-5 days each)

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $243,800 USD annually, plus stock options.
