Maintenance Technician – Station at Five Points

Article Student Living is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician at our Five Points station in Columbia, Richland County. In this hands-on position, you'll keep our student housing community safe, well-maintained, and visually appealing while responding to the day-to-day operational needs of our property and residents.

What This Role Involves

As Maintenance Technician at this Columbia property, you'll manage the upkeep of building systems, facilities, and common spaces. The work shifts based on what the community needs at any given time—from urgent repairs to preventive maintenance that keeps everything functioning properly. You'll be instrumental in maintaining a safe, attractive, and functional living environment for our student residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and residential features
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents and address issues promptly
• Conduct regular inspections of the property, including buildings, grounds, and shared areas
• Care for landscaping and outdoor spaces to maintain attractive curb appeal
• Document maintenance activities and maintain organized service records
• Diagnose equipment and system problems and execute repairs or modifications
• Adhere to safety protocols and property standards in all work

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated background in building or property maintenance
• Mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple demands
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities
• Self-direction with capacity to collaborate with team members
• Valid driver's license (a plus)
