Lutheran Services Florida invites qualified mental health professionals to join our team as a Counselor III in Brickell, Miami-Dade County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide direct clinical services to youth and families seeking support and healing in one of South Florida's most vibrant communities.

Role Overview

As a Counselor III with Lutheran Services Florida, you will deliver evidence-based individual and family counseling to youth in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. This role combines therapeutic skill with crisis response capability, allowing you to serve young people and their families during pivotal moments. You'll participate in comprehensive assessments, develop treatment strategies, and provide direct intervention—both in office and in clients' homes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and family counseling sessions with youth clients
• Perform intake assessments and psychosocial evaluations
• Assess suicide risk and complete appropriate safety planning
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide in-home crisis intervention and stabilization
• Document clinical progress and maintain detailed case notes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners
• Participate in case consultation and clinical supervision

Requirements

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related mental health field
• Current state licensure or eligibility as a mental health counselor or equivalent credential required by Florida
• Experience in youth mental health, crisis intervention, or family systems work
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and complex trauma
• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation
