CDL A OTR Solo Truck Driver

Turner Trucking Company is seeking a full-time CDL A over-the-road solo truck driver for our operations based in Tega Cay, York County. This is your opportunity to join a family-operated freight carrier where drivers are valued as individuals, not numbers.

What This Role Involves

As a solo driver with a valid CDL A, you'll operate company equipment for long-distance freight delivery across the United States. This position focuses on time-sensitive shipments moving primarily westbound to California, Washington, and Oregon destinations, with return loads of fresh agricultural products. You'll manage your own route, maintain your vehicle's condition, and represent our commitment to reliable, express-level service on every trip.

What You'll Do

• Operate tractor-trailer units on interstate and highway routes across multiple states
• Maintain accurate logbooks and comply with all DOT regulations and safety standards
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
• Load, secure, and unload freight according to specifications and safety protocols
• Communicate with dispatch regarding route updates, delivery status, and vehicle condition
• Ensure delivery of freight on schedule while maintaining professional customer interactions

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL A) with current DOT medical certification
• Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and safety compliance
• Mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
• Professional communication skills and commitment to safe driving practices
• Ability to work independently and maintain professional customer interactions
