Senior Architect

Skidmore Owings & Merrill is seeking a Senior Architect to join its Chicago, Cook County office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead architectural design strategy and shape communities through innovative, sustainable solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design development and direction on assigned projects
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design, planning, and engineering perspectives
• Contribute to client presentations, project strategy, and design decisions
• Guide and mentor junior architects and design staff
• Advance sustainable and innovative architectural solutions
• Manage project documentation, specifications, and technical coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, with Master's degree preferred
• Professional Architecture license (RA/NCARB) or equivalent registration
• Extensive professional experience in architectural design and project delivery
• Expertise in contemporary design practices, technologies, and sustainability principles
• Strong communication and collaborative leadership abilities across disciplines
