Early Career Control & Simulation Engineer

Astrion is hiring an Early Career Control & Simulation Engineer to join our team in Estill Springs, Franklin County. This full-time position offers recent graduates and early-career professionals the opportunity to work on sophisticated control systems and advanced simulation technology in a collaborative engineering environment.

What This Role Involves

In this position, you'll contribute to the design, development, and validation of control systems and simulation models that support critical operational capabilities. Working within our Engineering & Technical Support Directorate, you'll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge control theory applications and work alongside experienced engineers committed to technical excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design and analyze control systems to meet specified performance requirements
• Develop, configure, and execute simulations to validate system behavior
• Perform testing and troubleshooting to ensure control system reliability
• Prepare technical documentation for systems, models, and validation results
• Support system integration, validation, and verification activities
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on control solutions
• Participate in design reviews and technical problem-solving discussions

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline
• Solid understanding of control theory and linear/nonlinear control system principles
• Experience or demonstrated proficiency with simulation and modeling software tools
• Strong technical writing and communication abilities
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively in team settings
