What This Role Involves
As an Evening Shift Custodian at Johnson Elementary School, you'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of school facilities during after-hours periods. Working on a 260-day annual calendar, you'll develop routines that protect the building's infrastructure and create a hygienic environment for the school community. Summer hours may vary seasonally, and you'll report to the Building Principal and Custodial Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas throughout the school building
- Empty trash receptacles and manage proper waste disposal and recycling
- Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, and stripping or waxing as needed
- Maintain outdoor grounds, parking areas, and building perimeter
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate with supervisory staff on repairs and replacements
- Operate cleaning equipment and handle custodial supplies safely per established guidelines
- Respond to emergency or urgent cleaning needs
