Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced Consulting Principal with specialized knowledge of healthcare payer business models, operations, and regulatory environments. In this leadership role, you'll partner with Fortune 500 health plans and regional insurers to develop and execute business strategy, drive operational improvements, and shape technology-enabled solutions. Your insight and advisory capability will influence high-stakes decisions that impact millions of members and advance the healthcare industry.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead consulting engagements with healthcare payer clients, defining scope, delivering recommendations, and ensuring measurable business outcomes
- Provide strategic advisory on core payer functions, including claims processing, enrollment and member services, underwriting, regulatory compliance, and consumer engagement
- Assess operational capabilities, identify transformation opportunities, and recommend technology and process improvements aligned with client strategy
- Develop and present executive-level insights, business cases, and implementation roadmaps to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Mentor consulting teams, build client relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor on complex, mission-critical initiatives
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare payer operations, strategy, management consulting, or related senior advisory roles
- Deep subject matter expertise in payer business models, member benefits, claims administration, regulatory requirements, or healthcare reimbursement
- Proven track record advising executive leadership and board-level stakeholders on strategic initiatives
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and ability to distill complex information into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication and consulting skills; ability to build credibility and influence across organizations
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, health policy, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certification preferred
