What This Role Involves
As Preconstruction Manager, you'll shape project success from conception. You'll manage the preconstruction phase of complex commercial and diverse projects, partnering with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to develop comprehensive strategies before construction begins. Your planning and analysis ensure each project launches with accuracy, efficiency, and confidence.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and preliminary project budgets
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility evaluations
- Coordinate with design professionals and trade partners on project scope and requirements
- Develop realistic construction schedules and identify critical milestones
- Analyze value engineering opportunities to enhance project economics
- Create comprehensive preconstruction reports and recommendations
- Research and qualify subcontractors and material suppliers
- Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies
What You Bring
- Substantial experience in preconstruction, estimation, or commercial construction project planning
- Deep familiarity with construction methods, materials, and industry practices
- Proficiency in estimating software and construction management platforms
- Strong communication abilities across design, commercial, and field teams
- Detail-oriented approach to budget development and schedule management
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional background)
