The Opportunity

CHS Inc. is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Inver Grove Heights. In this role, you'll be the trusted resource for our employees' benefits needs—ensuring they have access to comprehensive coverage, understand their options, and receive timely support. You'll work in a collaborative environment where your expertise directly impacts employee satisfaction and organizational compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage company employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives
• Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding coverage, claims, eligibility, and benefits policies with clear, helpful communication
• Coordinate with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and internal departments to resolve benefits issues
• Maintain detailed benefits records and documentation in compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations
• Support benefits-related compliance activities, including FMLA administration and COBRA notifications
• Organize and deliver benefits education sessions and communications to ensure employees understand their options

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or associate degree; bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR benefits support
• Knowledge of federal and state benefits regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA
• Proficiency with benefits administration software and HR information systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail when managing employee records
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and professionalism
