Senior Product Manager, Horizon

Nelnet is hiring a full-time Senior Product Manager, Horizon in Washington, D.C., US. We're seeking an experienced product leader to drive the vision and strategy for Horizon, a platform serving education and faith-based organizations worldwide.

About the Role

As Senior Product Manager for Horizon, you'll own the complete product strategy and roadmap for a solution that empowers educational institutions and faith communities to serve their missions more effectively. You'll operate at the intersection of customer needs, technology innovation, and business strategy, shaping products that impact millions of users across higher education, K-12 schools, and faith organizations globally.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to cross-functional engineering, design, and marketing teams
• Gather and synthesize customer feedback from education and faith-based organizations to inform product direction
• Partner with engineering and design leaders to move features from discovery through launch and optimization
• Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and user data to identify growth opportunities and guide prioritization
• Set product goals and KPIs; track and report progress to senior leadership and stakeholders
• Own the complete product lifecycle from concept validation through customer outcomes and iteration
• Communicate product strategy internally and externally, translating business objectives into clear product requirements

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a senior product role
• Proven track record of building and shipping products that customers love and that deliver business impact
• Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to make data-driven product decisions
• Experience in edtech, SaaS, fintech, or similar technology-driven environments preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and align stakeholders across organizational boundaries
• Deep curiosity about customer needs and how technology can solve real problems
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
