Senior Director – BMS/EMPS Controls Design & Strategy

Oracle seeks a Senior Director of Building Management Systems and Electrical/Mechanical Plant Management Systems (BMS/EMPS) Controls Design and Strategy for its Helena, Lewis and Clark County location. This is a full-time executive leadership opportunity to architect next-generation facility management and automation solutions for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's global data center portfolio.

Position Summary

As Senior Director of BMS/EMPS Controls Design and Strategy, you will lead the long-term vision and execution of building management and plant systems for OCI's infrastructure footprint. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on technical oversight, positioning you to influence how Oracle's data centers operate globally. You'll champion innovation in facility automation, systems integration, and operational efficiency while building and directing world-class engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Set the technical roadmap for BMS/EMPS modernization across OCI's data center ecosystem
• Design and implement standardized architectures for controls integration, ensuring consistency at scale
• Develop automation strategies that maximize uptime, reduce operational overhead, and improve predictive maintenance capabilities
• Lead cross-functional teams spanning controls engineering, software architecture, and facility operations
• Drive adoption of operational intelligence platforms to enhance real-time visibility and decision-making
• Shape organizational standards for controls design, vendor partnerships, and integration frameworks
• Collaborate with data center operations, infrastructure, and cloud platform teams on requirements and optimization

Qualifications

• 15+ years in building automation, controls engineering, or facility systems management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Deep technical expertise in BMS architectures, HVAC systems controls, and electrical plant management
• Proven ability to design and standardize complex systems across geographically distributed infrastructure
• Strong background in software architecture, system integration, and automation technology
• Experience building and leading high-performing engineering and operations teams
• Knowledge of data center design, operational standards, and scalability requirements
• Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical teams and senior business stakeholders
