Electric Utility Field Designer

SEnergy is seeking an experienced Electric Utility Field Designer to join our Fair Oaks, Kendall County team as a full-time, individual contributor focused on designing and planning electric power distribution infrastructure.

About This Position

This hands-on role centers on field design work for electric utility systems. As an Electric Utility Field Designer, you'll work independently, bringing practical expertise in power distribution facility planning and design to each project. We're looking for someone who is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of design responsibilities from conception through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan electric power distribution facilities based on site conditions and system requirements
• Conduct field assessments and gather data to inform facility layout and routing decisions
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure designs meet operational and regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot design challenges and implement practical, cost-effective solutions
• Support implementation phases to ensure design intent is achieved in the field

What You Bring

• Proven experience in electric utility design or related field engineering work
• Strong technical knowledge of power distribution systems and infrastructure
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project tasks effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all design work
• Proficiency with field measurement tools and industry design software
• A practical, problem-solving mindset and hands-on approach to field challenges
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work on-site at various locations
• A college degree is not required; proven hands-on experience in utility design is essential
