Security Guard Officer

Security Guard Services is hiring a Security Guard Officer for our Cape Canaveral, Brevard County location. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a real difference by keeping properties, assets, and people safe through vigilant on-site protection and rapid response to security threats.

Position Summary

As a Security Guard Officer with Security Guard Services, you'll be the frontline guardian of our client's physical security. Your presence, attention to detail, and quick thinking prevent losses, deter criminal activity, and ensure a safe environment for everyone on the premises. You'll work full-time monitoring security systems, conducting regular patrols, and responding immediately to any security concerns that arise.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas on a regular schedule to detect and prevent unauthorized activity and security breaches
• Operate and monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to maintain continuous property oversight
• Conduct systematic inspections of buildings, equipment, locks, and access points to identify vulnerabilities
• Control entry and exit points by verifying credentials and maintaining visitor logs
• Activate alarm systems and alert emergency services when security incidents occur
• Document and report all irregularities, incidents, and suspicious behavior to supervisors
• Communicate security policies and procedures to employees and visitors, ensuring compliance
• Intervene to stop trespassing and other unauthorized activities in a professional manner

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; security training or certification preferred
• Keen observation skills and strong situational awareness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and respond quickly to incidents
• Reliability and strong work ethic with consistent attendance
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently or as part of a team
• Sound judgment and the ability to stay calm under pressure
