About the Role

You'll support daily editorial operations across the Daily Mail's diverse coverage areas—showbiz, royals, lifestyle, health, and beyond—working closely with senior editors to refine, verify, and shape content for a global audience. As an Assistant News Editor at dmg's New York City office, you'll develop editorial judgment and leadership skills in a fast-paced newsroom where accuracy, speed, and insight drive every story.

What You'll Do

• Edit and polish news copy for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to editorial standards across multiple beats
• Fact-check reporting and verify sources to ensure all published content meets journalism and legal requirements
• Collaborate with reporters and senior editors to coordinate story development and editorial workflow
• Identify breaking news opportunities and contribute to editorial planning and prioritization
• Maintain publication voice and editorial consistency across digital platforms
• Meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality in a dynamic newsroom environment

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional journalism experience
• Excellent editing, writing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
