Lead Server – Senior Living Dining Services

Sunrise Senior Living is hiring a Lead Server to manage dining operations at our Sunnyvale community in Santa Clara County. This full-time position offers an opportunity to lead a hospitality team and create meaningful dining experiences for our residents every day.

About the Role

As Lead Server in our senior living dining services, you'll oversee the daily operations of our dining room, setting the standard for service excellence and creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents. You'll partner with the kitchen team, mentor dining staff, and ensure every meal service runs smoothly while upholding our commitment to resident satisfaction and dignity.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and mentor dining room staff, modeling best practices in hospitality and customer service
• Coordinate meal service operations, managing timing, table assignments, and guest flow
• Deliver attentive, personalized service to residents, building relationships and addressing needs
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and food safety throughout the dining area
• Communicate with kitchen and culinary teams to ensure quality and special dietary accommodations
• Support special dining events and activities that enhance resident experiences
• Train new team members on service standards, safety protocols, and resident interaction best practices
• Handle resident requests and concerns with professionalism and compassion

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in dining service, hospitality, or food service leadership roles
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with genuine care for seniors
• Attention to detail and commitment to service excellence and resident satisfaction
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds regularly
• Professional appearance and positive, service-oriented attitude
