Terracon is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Engineering Technician In Training to join our Ogden, Weber County team. In this entry-level full-time position, you'll build expertise in evaluating construction materials through hands-on field and laboratory work—gaining the foundational knowledge needed for a rewarding career in construction quality assurance.

About the Role

You'll work as part of our materials testing team, learning to evaluate soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel under the mentorship of experienced professionals. This position combines laboratory analysis with on-site evaluations, ensuring construction materials meet project specifications and applicable industry standards. You'll develop practical skills while directly contributing to project quality and safety.

What You'll Do

• Execute field and laboratory evaluations of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel
• Conduct on-site observations and material inspections at construction facilities
• Record and organize testing results with precision and attention to detail
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering staff, client teams, and contractors to discuss findings and project needs
• Assist senior technicians in maintaining test equipment and laboratory standards
• Adhere to safety regulations and industry best practices throughout all activities

What We're Looking For
