About the Role
The international trade practice is seeking an experienced senior attorney to work on high-impact matters spanning tariff classification, trade compliance, export control regulation, and customs law. You will counsel clients on managing global trade obligations, regulatory compliance strategies, supply chain trade risk, and the implications of international trade agreements on their business operations.
What You'll Do
- Advise clients on tariff classification, customs procedures, and trade compliance planning
- Counsel on export controls, economic sanctions compliance, and trade agreement impacts
- Draft and review international trade agreements, customs filings, and regulatory documentation
- Manage trade disputes, trade remedies proceedings, and regulatory appeals
- Identify and mitigate supply chain trade risks and build compliance programs
- Support business development and strengthen client relationships
- Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to practice growth
What We're Looking For
- Licensed to practice law in any US state; international trade expertise essential
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in international trade law, customs law, or trade regulation
- Strong knowledge of US tariff law, trade agreements (USMCA, Section 301, etc.), and compliance requirements
- Experience with export controls, sanctions, trade litigation, or trade remedies preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional matters independently
