About the Role
As an Aide/Paraprofessional in our Adaptive Behavior program, you'll work alongside certified teachers to provide hands-on support to elementary students with varying learning and behavioral needs. This full-time position is crucial to building an inclusive classroom where every student can engage and grow.
What You'll Do
- Implement adaptive behavior strategies under teacher supervision
- Support classroom instruction, activities, and student participation
- Assist with behavioral intervention plans and social-emotional skill development
- Document and communicate student progress observations to the teaching team
- Organize classroom materials and manage instructional resources
- Provide physical assistance as needed, including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom setting
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- 48 hours of completed college coursework or equivalent qualifying credential
- Prior experience working with children (preferred)
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with genuine ability to connect with students
- Willingness to adapt daily routines and respond flexibly to student and classroom needs
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Physical capability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
