Special Education Assistant II – 7 hour – Kennedy Elementary

About the Role

As a Special Education Assistant II, you'll work alongside our special education team to help students access the general curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence in their abilities. Your direct support and encouragement are vital to each student's academic and social-emotional growth throughout the school day.

What You'll Do

• Deliver individualized instructional support to students with disabilities under the direction of special education teachers
• Assist with implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans tailored to student-specific learning goals
• Support classroom activities, guided small group instruction, and one-on-one skill practice
• Help students develop communication, social interaction, and self-care skills through consistent modeling and practice
• Reinforce positive behaviors and learning strategies during class time, transitions, and school activities
• Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families about student progress and any concerns that arise
• Maintain accurate records and support documentation as needed

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working in special education or with students with disabilities (preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families
• Demonstrated patience, compassion, and commitment to student success and inclusion
• Ability to follow instructional direction, adapt to individual student needs, and maintain strict confidentiality
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
