Payroll and Benefits Manager

HomeRise is hiring a full-time Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our team in Tenderloin, San Francisco. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 annually.

About the Role

As Payroll and Benefits Manager at HomeRise, you'll oversee all payroll processing, benefits administration, and related compliance for our growing organization. This role is critical to ensuring our team receives accurate, timely compensation and has access to comprehensive benefits that support their wellbeing and financial security.

What You'll Do

• Process and manage end-to-end payroll operations, including employee compensation, tax withholdings, deductions, and final paychecks
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other wellness offerings
• Ensure full payroll and benefits compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and documentation
• Lead benefits enrollment, open enrollment periods, and provide clear employee communications
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee compensation questions
• Generate payroll reports, analytics, and documentation for leadership review and external audits
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams on compensation strategy, budgeting, and headcount planning

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in payroll administration or benefits management
• Solid knowledge of payroll tax laws and employment compliance requirements
• Proficiency with payroll software systems and HRIS platforms
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Commitment to confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive employee information
• Clear communication skills and collaborative problem-solving approach
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet consistent deadlines
