Medical Assistant

Join Conviva Senior Primary Care in Corpus Christi, Nueces County as a full-time Medical Assistant. We're looking for a compassionate professional to deliver essential patient care and clinical support in an onsite primary care environment.

Position Summary

As a Medical Assistant at Conviva Senior Primary Care, you'll serve as an integral member of our clinical team in Corpus Christi. You'll greet and interact with patients from the moment they arrive, setting the tone for their care experience while managing administrative workflows that keep our practice running smoothly. Reporting to the Center Administrator, you'll balance hands-on patient care duties with clerical responsibilities in a fast-paced medical setting, ensuring our patients receive attentive, organized, and professional service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, update medical histories, and verify insurance information at check-in
• Obtain vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight; document findings accurately
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary medical supplies and equipment are available
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor clinical procedures
• Perform phlebotomy and prepare lab specimens for testing
• Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Coordinate administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and records management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certification or current enrollment in a certified program preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical office software
• Strong communication skills with ability to interact compassionately with patients and diverse teams
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized in a dynamic clinical environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Availability to work full-time hours onsite at our Corpus Christi location
