Role Overview

As a part-time substitute teacher with Kokua Education, you'll step in to lead classrooms across the region, maintaining continuity in student learning when full-time teachers are unavailable. You control your own schedule and choose which assignments align with your availability. Substitutes earn up to $144 per day and gain the satisfaction of supporting students' educational development through engaging instruction and positive classroom leadership. Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction following established lesson plans provided by permanent teachers
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a productive learning environment
• Take attendance, assign and collect work, and maintain accurate classroom records
• Communicate progress and concerns to permanent staff and administration
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student learning needs
• Supervise students during non-instructional times when assigned

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate or equivalent credential required by your state
• High school diploma or GED minimum
• Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation to schools throughout College Station and the surrounding region
