About the Role
As a Substitute Teacher with Kokua Education in Brooklyn and the wider New York City area, you'll step into local schools to keep learning moving forward when regular teachers are away. Every day on the job is a chance to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students see new possibilities for themselves. Kokua (pronounced Koh-KOO-ah, a Hawaiian word rooted in the spirit of help and support) is actively reviewing applications for the 2025-26 school year, and qualified candidates can start the interview process immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead classrooms across Brooklyn and surrounding NYC schools in place of absent teachers.
- Follow lesson plans and learning objectives to keep students on track throughout the day.
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment for every student.
