Sleep Expert – Sales

The Sleep Expert - Sales position at Mattress Firm in Orange Park, Clay County invites a passionate sales professional to become the store’s knowledgeable sleep guide, guiding customers toward the perfect mattress and bedding solutions while driving store performance.

About the Role

As a full‑time team member, you will engage shoppers, assess their sleep needs, and recommend products that align with their preferences and budget. You will follow Mattress Firm’s sales approach, leverage digital resources to enhance the buying journey, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers both in the store and online.

What You'll Do

• Welcome customers, build rapport, and conduct personalized sleep consultations to identify ideal mattress, pillow, and accessory choices.
• Demonstrate product features, explain benefits, and use digital platforms to show comparisons, pricing, and financing options.
• Execute promotional campaigns, follow sales scripts, and meet or exceed individual and store‑level sales targets.
• Maintain accurate inventory, ensure displays are neat and inviting, and restock floor samples as needed.
• Process transactions through the point‑of‑sale system, handle returns or exchanges according to company policy, and document customer interactions in the CRM.
• Stay current on new product launches, industry trends, and competitor offerings through ongoing training and self‑study.
• Collaborate with teammates to share best practices, support visual merchandising updates, and contribute to a positive store culture.
• Assist with omnichannel initiatives such as online order fulfillment, curbside pickup, and virtual appointments when required.

What We're Looking For

• Proven ability to connect with people and deliver consultative sales in a retail environment.
• Strong communication skills, active listening, and a genuine interest in helping others improve their sleep quality.
• Comfort using technology — including tablets, POS systems, and basic CRM software — to support the sales process.
• Basic math proficiency for handling transactions, pricing calculations, and goal tracking.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as the store schedule demands.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in mattress, furniture, or home‑goods sales is a plus but not required.
• A self‑motivated attitude, reliability, and the willingness to learn Mattress Firm’s proprietary selling methodology.
