Join The Hospital of Central Connecticut as a Registered Nurse in our Labor and Delivery department, where you'll provide compassionate, skilled care to mothers and families during one of life's most significant moments. This full-time night shift position offers meaningful work in a dynamic acute care setting within the Hartford HealthCare system.

About the Role

As an RN on our Labor and Delivery unit, you'll be at the heart of maternity care. Working 24-hour night shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am) every third weekend and every other holiday on a rotating schedule, you'll deliver clinical expertise and emotional support when expectant families need it most.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery using clinical assessment and electronic fetal monitoring
  • Provide direct patient care during labor progression, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery
  • Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives with delivery procedures and emergency interventions
  • Support families through labor progression, educate about comfort measures and postpartum care, and answer questions with empathy
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, pediatrics, and support staff to ensure safe, coordinated care
  • Document clinical findings, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment for patients and newborns

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
  • Clinical knowledge and experience in obstetric nursing or acute care settings preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and families during vulnerable moments
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and professional nursing standards
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and rotating schedules
