International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert

CDM Smith seeks an International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert to join our environmental consulting team in Kansas City, Jackson County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead forensic investigations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) contamination across international regulatory frameworks and complex environmental sites.

About the Role

As an International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert, you will provide specialized technical guidance on PFAS contamination assessment, source identification, and remediation strategy. Your expertise will support clients navigating evolving global PFAS regulations while conducting rigorous forensic evaluations to determine contamination origins, transport mechanisms, and environmental fate.

What You'll Do

• Lead forensic investigations to identify PFAS sources and contamination pathways at complex environmental sites
• Evaluate international PFAS regulations, standards, and emerging policy across multiple jurisdictions
• Design and oversee PFAS sampling protocols, analytical strategies, and data interpretation methodologies
• Develop remediation and risk management recommendations based on forensic findings
• Prepare technical reports, expert assessments, and regulatory documentation for clients and agencies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on site investigations, risk assessments, and long-term monitoring programs
• Advise clients on PFAS liability, regulatory compliance, and strategic environmental management
• Stay current with international PFAS research, analytical advancements, and regulatory developments

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in environmental science, chemistry, geology, or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in PFAS forensics, characterization, and site remediation
• Deep knowledge of international PFAS regulations and environmental standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to scientific rigor
• Experience managing complex environmental investigations and client relationships
• Excellent technical writing and presentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional project teams
