Join Clean Harbors as a Class A Equipment Operator and HAZMAT Truck Driver in East Long Beach, Los Angeles County. We're seeking an experienced, safety-focused driver ready to respond to on-call emergency hazardous waste cleanup operations across our service region.
About the Role
As a Class A Equipment Operator / HAZMAT Truck Driver, you'll operate a diverse fleet of heavy and light duty specialized vehicles in response to customer site emergencies and scheduled cleanups. This is a full-time position that requires availability for on-call shifts. You'll manage both driving and non-driving responsibilities, including vehicle operation, site work, and hazardous material handling at customer locations.
What You'll Do
- Operate vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, guzzlers, and specialized cleanup equipment at customer sites
- Perform hazardous waste collection, transfer, and transport following all safety and regulatory protocols
- Execute on-call emergency response assignments with professionalism and speed
- Complete pre-operation vehicle inspections and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with site managers and customers to ensure cleanup goals are met safely and efficiently
- Adhere to HAZMAT regulations, DOT standards, and company safety procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement required
- Demonstrated experience operating heavy truck equipment and specialized vehicles
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to hazardous waste handling best practices
- Ability to respond promptly to on-call emergency requests and adapt to changing schedules
- Physical capability to perform both driving and non-driving duties in demanding field conditions
