AMS Staffing is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead HR strategy and operations across our offices in Oakland, Los Angeles, or San Diego, California. This full-time permanent leadership role is ideal for an HR executive ready to shape organizational culture, drive talent strategy, and build high-performing teams across multiple locations.

About the Role

In this position, you'll take ownership of all human resources functions—from recruitment and employee development to compliance and compensation strategy. You'll partner with company leadership to design and implement HR initiatives that support business growth while creating a workplace where talented professionals want to build their careers.

What You'll Do

• Build and execute comprehensive HR strategies that align with organizational objectives
• Lead all aspects of talent acquisition, hiring, onboarding, and team development
• Manage employee relations, performance evaluation systems, and professional growth programs
• Maintain full compliance with employment regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
• Oversee benefits administration, compensation planning, and payroll coordination
• Shape company culture through engagement initiatives and inclusive workplace practices
• Direct and mentor the HR department to deliver outstanding service across all office locations

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Demonstrated success in HR leadership or senior management roles
• Deep expertise in employment law, regulatory compliance, and HR best practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build cross-functional relationships
• Proven track record managing large-scale HR operations and implementing system improvements
• Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution capability

Compensation and Work Environment

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $175,000 to $245,000 annually based on location and experience, supplemented by a discretionary performance bonus and comprehensive benefits package. You'll enjoy a hybrid work schedule—three days in office collaboration with two days working remotely—providing flexibility while maintaining team connection.
