Position Summary

pony.ai is seeking a talented Research Intern specializing in Deep Learning to support our research and development teams in Fremont. You'll work on core machine learning projects that advance autonomous systems, gaining practical experience in one of the most innovative fields in technology. This internship provides direct exposure to real-world deep learning challenges, mentorship from experienced researchers, and the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize deep learning models for autonomous vehicle perception and decision-making systems
• Conduct research on novel neural network architectures and training methodologies
• Analyze large-scale datasets and perform experiments to validate machine learning approaches
• Collaborate with senior researchers and engineers to integrate deep learning solutions into production systems
• Document findings, present results, and contribute to technical reports and research discussions

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong foundation in deep learning, machine learning, and neural networks
• Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent)
• Understanding of computer vision, natural language processing, or related AI domains
• Experience with data analysis, model evaluation, and debugging machine learning systems
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
